This also includes PHPP calculations.&lt;br /&gt;Thermal Harmonic Conductivities and further dynamic indicators facilitating heat transport with heat capacity capabilities follow the ISO and EN standard EN ISO 13786.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The harmonic thermal conductivity is given by the amplitude and phase lag of the heat flow which follows periodically changing boundary conditions (either temperatures or heat sources or sinks). Lagging in time with damping of amplitude (attenuation) results from heat storage capability of materials.&lt;br /&gt;Heat losses might lag many months, intermittent heat gains might result also. Cooling infrastructure might become obsolete or overheating can be practically resolved with the building own (heat) capacity.&lt;br /&gt;Transient heat flows are heavily dependent on heat capacity of building components, especially massive, solid or brick walls, slab or ground structures.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Harmonic option of AnTherm can be seen as a small brother of the much more extensive &lt;a href="http://antherm.blogspot.com/2011/11/what-is-transient-option-of-antherm.html"&gt;TRANSIENT-Option of AnTherm&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;The purpose of the Harmonic option is to solve transient, periodic heat transmission equation for the 0-th and 1-st harmonic. The 0-th harmonic is the steady state solution of the equation corresponding to mean heat flows under periodic boundary conditions. The 1-st harmonic provides solutions of amplitude and phase lag for the main period, such as day or year.&lt;br /&gt;When power sources are involved AnTherm’s Harmonic option reports Harmonic Heat Distribution Factors (additionally to Harmonic Thermal Conductivities reported for spaces) and are also given by their amplitude and phase lag of the heat flow following the oscillation of respective heat source or sink.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;By using the harmonic indicators much better approximation of dynamic thermal behavior of the building can be obtained when compared to simplified steady state approach – even with only one first harmonic of the oscillation. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Exact indicators calculated with AnTherm for any 3 dimensional geometry and arbitrary combination of materials are indispensible replacement for approximations restricted to few simplified geometries only as those provided in ISO 13370. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The strength of the HARMONIC tool relies on the fact, that harmonic thermal conductances (complex number, amplitude and the phase lag) can be calculated without the need to enter nor to know any boundary conditions – harmonic thermal conductances are output just following the steady state thermal conductances L2D, L3D in the respective report. There is also no need to specify or assume any starting boundary conditions as compared to time step based methods.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is very important to emphasize, that harmonic thermal conductance are characteristic for the object concerned and by that are independent of any boundary conditions. The proper calculation of these harmonic periodic indicators does not need to know nor to apply any boundary conditions. By that it allows modeling and analysis of effects of heat storage in building construction and their response to changing conditions due to heat capacity of materials.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Such simulation approach is also known by “Transient periodic”, “Transient harmonic” or “quasi steady periodic”.&lt;br /&gt;The efficiency and precision of this simulation approach results from the assumption of periodicity. By assuming periodicity of the processes the proper of periodic simulation does not need any starting distribution of temperature field. This is especially true for climatic boundary conditions (year, day), utilization scenarios (including the period of one week) or any other “repetitive” situation, e.g. periodically tuning on and off electric heating appliance.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Respective boundary conditions, periodically variable in time, can be modeled as series of values at specific time points or as series of mean values valid for several intervals of equal or variable lengths. Modeling periodic boundary conditions is not limited to air temperature but also possible for volumetric heat sources or sinks. The later will often be modeled as step (switch) functions while the other will result from some long term data measurements. The set of tools provided for modeling periodic data includes for example: values at equidistant points (regular points), mean values at equally or irregularly distributed time intervals (regular means, irregular means), values in steps (switching) on irregularly tiled intervals (irregular steps). A method for implementing such a model in simulation software is proposed and compared to simplified methods currently employed in international norms and standards. The practicality and efficiency of the harmonic approach is demonstrated using an appropriate simulation software package (“AnTherm”), which allows the three-dimensional, time-dependant visualisation of simulation results. Der Entwurf eines thermischen Netzwerkes führt auf ein leicht überschaubares Konzept für mehrdimensional arbeitende Programme zur Simulation des thermischen Verhaltens von Gebäuden. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Die Bedeutung dieses Konzeptes läßt sich leichter fassen, wenn die Gesamtheit der Innen- und Außenräume als thermisches Netzwerk interpretiert wird.&lt;br /&gt;Das Konzept der thermischen Leitwerte fußt auf der Linearität der Wärmeleitungsgleichung. Diese Linearität ist nur dann gegeben, wenn angenommen wird, daß die Wärmeleitfähigkeit, die spezifische Wärmekapazität und die Massendichte aller im Gebäude vorkommender Baumaterialien konstante, von der Temperatur unabhängige Werte haben. Für die Mehrzahl der im Planungsprozeß anstehenden Fragestellungen sind diese Annahmen sicherlich zulässig.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Das Konzept der thermischen Leitwerte ist bestens geeignet, die Transmissionswärmeströme im Gebäude zu beschreiben. Aufgrund der einfachen, linearen Beziehungen ist dieses Konzept im stationären Fall sogar der Handrechnung zugänglich. Hierbei ist jedoch anzumerken, daß die thermischen Leitwerte, die unter Berücksichtigung mehrdimensional ablaufender Wärmeleitungsvorgänge zu ermitteln sind, nur mittels Einsatz eines geeigneten “Wärmebrückenprogrammes” berechnet werden können.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Grundsätzlich ist es möglich, ein Gebäude mit all´ seinen Innenräumen mit einem geeigneten Wärmebrückenprogramm zu modellieren. Ergebnis einer solchen Berechnung ist direkt die Leitwertmatrix. Derzeit ist die Modellierung und Durchrechnung eines ganzen Gebäudes nur in Ausnahmefällen unter Zugriff auf besonders leistungsfähige Wärmebrückenprogramme möglich. Im Normalfall werden die Elemente der Leitwertmatrix durch Berechnung und anschließende Summation von Teilleitwerten errechnet. Das Gebäude wird hierzu fiktiv in Teilbereiche zerlegt, für die jeweils die Matrizen der Teilleitwerte errechnet werden. Hierbei muß darauf Bedacht genommen werden, daß die fiktiven Schnittebenen in Bereiche des Gebäudes gelegt werden, für die in guter Näherung das Vorliegen eindimensionaler Wärmeleitung angenommen werden kann. In der internationalen Norm EN ISO 10211 wird diese Art der Berechnung der Leitwertmatrix “direktes Verfahren” genannt. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Das&amp;nbsp;Leitwert-Konzept läßt sich auf instationäre, periodisch eingeschwungene Vorgänge verallgemeinern. Der Leitwert ist komplexwertig und wird harmonischer thermischer Leitwert genannt.&lt;br /&gt;Es entsteht somit für jede Harmonische ein Gleichungssystem mit komplexwertigen Koeffizienten, dessen Lösung – je nach Fragestellung – entweder zu den komplexen Amplituden der Raumlufttemperatur oder zu den komplexen Amplituden der im Raum&amp;nbsp;aufzubringenden Heiz- oder Kühlleistung führt. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Das Verwenden des periodisch eingeschwungenen Ansatzes hat den Vorteil, daß für jede zu berücksichtigende Harmonische lediglich ein Gleichungssystem aufzustellen und zu lösen ist. Da die Gleichungen zeitfrei sind, werden Fehler, wie sie bei anderen Lösungsmethoden durch zeitliche Diskretisierung entstehen, vermieden. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Eine dreidimensionale, instationäre thermische Simulation wird dann benötigt, wenn der Wärmetransport mehrdimensional abläuft und zudem zu erwarten ist, daß Wärmespeicherfähigkeitseffekte das Berechnungsergebnis maßgeblich beeinflussen werden. Die Mehrdimensionalität des Wärmeflusses durch die Bauteile eines Gebäudes ist generell gegeben; eindimensionale Wärmeleitung ist im Bauwesen eine seltene Ausnahme und nicht die Regel.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Wärmespeicherfähigkeitseffekte spielen bekanntlich bei Sommertauglichkeitsuntersuchungen eine große Rolle. Es ist daher naheliegend anzunehmen, daß die dreidimensionale thermische Simulation die Planungssicherheit in Hinblick auf das Sommerverhalten von Räumen und Gebäuden zu erhöhen geeignet ist. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Normalerweise spielen Wärmespeicherfähigkeitseffekte bei der Berechnung des Heizwärmebedarfes von Gebäuden nur eine untergeordnete Rolle. Erst wenn die Wärmespeicherfähigkeit der Bauteile des Gebäudes sehr groß wird, ist zu erwarten, daß die dreidimensional instationäre Berechnung deutlich andere Ergebnisse liefern wird als die übliche Art der Simulation, in der Wärmebrücken lediglich über die Einführung stationärer Korrekturfaktoren berücksichtigt werden. Beispiele, für die eine dreidimensionale instationäre Modellierung notwendig sein wird, sind Altbauten mit sehr dicken, massiven Mauern, Kirchen, Schutzbauten, etc. . Spezialfall: unbeheizte Pufferräume</title><content type='html'>Die Problematik wird im Zusammenhang mit den bodenberührten Bauteilen behandelt (unbeheizter Kellerraum) und das Thema ist nun ganz allgemein abgearbeitet. Aus mehreren Anfragen zeigt sich, dass die Problematik schnell zur Konfusion und zur (unsinnigen) physikalischen Interpretation von psi-Werten (ver)führt. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Im allgemeinen Fall von 3 Räumen mit beliebig vorgebbaren Temperaturen wird u.U. das ψ-Wert-Konzept insofern fragwürdig, als ψ zu einer Funktion der Temperaturen Ti, Te und Tp (unbeheizter Pufferraum) wird. Die Leitwertzuschläge werden jeweils durch&lt;br /&gt;Bildung des Produkts aus dem „Ψ-Wert“ und der zugehörigen Länge errechnet.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Da die „indirekte Methode“ mehrdeutig und nicht für jeden Spezialfall&lt;br /&gt;normativ geregelt ist, führt sie immer wieder zu Verunsicherung und in der Folge&lt;br /&gt;auch zu – durchaus auch schwerwiegenden – Fehlern. Im Fall bodenberührter&lt;br /&gt;Bauteile, für den ja eine eindimensionale Modellierung von vornherein fragwürdig&lt;br /&gt;erscheint, ist die Verunsicherung besonders ausgeprägt. Daher soll hier ein&lt;br /&gt;Versuch der Klärung anstehender Fragen unternommen werden. Hierbei werden&lt;br /&gt;allgemein gültige, wesentliche Grundsätze untersucht und dargelegt. Die oft&lt;br /&gt;gewünschte kochbuchartige Beschreibung einer einzuhaltenden Vorgangsweise könnte&lt;br /&gt;lediglich Spezialfälle abdecken und wird hier bewusst vermieden.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Von grundsätzlicher Bedeutung ist die Einsicht, dass die „indirekte&lt;br /&gt;Methode“ eine reine Rechenvorschrift zur Korrektur des Fehlers der&lt;br /&gt;eindimensionalen Modellierung ist. Daher ist es in der überwiegenden Zahl der&lt;br /&gt;Fälle auch unzulässig und irreführend, den mittels zweidimensionalen&lt;br /&gt;Wärmebrückenberechnungen ermittelten „Ψ-Werten“ irgendeine physikalische&lt;br /&gt;Bedeutung beizumessen. Zu betonen ist allerdings, dass die „indirekte Methode“&lt;br /&gt;bei richtiger Anwendung zum gleichen Resultat – dem thermischen Leitwert der&lt;br /&gt;Gebäudehülle – führt wie die „direkte Methode“ der EN ISO 10211 oder eine&lt;br /&gt;dreidimensionale Modellierung des gesamten Gebäudes.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Die Mehrdeutigkeit der „indirekten Methode“ wird durch den Umstand&lt;br /&gt;hervorgerufen, dass das verwendete eindimensionale Berechnungsmodell zur&lt;br /&gt;Beantwortung der Problemstellung (Berechnung des Leitwerts der Gebäudehülle,&lt;br /&gt;Heizwärme- und Heizenergiebedarfsberechnung, Sommertauglichkeitsberechnung, …)&lt;br /&gt;grundsätzlich nicht geeignet ist und auf verschiedenste Weise konstruiert werden&lt;br /&gt;kann. Der Fehler der eindimensionalen Berechnung ist somit eng mit der Art des&lt;br /&gt;gewählten eindimensionalen Modells verbunden. A method well suited for practical use in finding regions which are critical with regard to heat and water vapour transport is presented. The pseudo colour image of the absolute values of the flow densities of heat and/or diffusion of water vapour immediately shows the regions of increased heat or vapour diffusion flow. Furthermore the plot of single flow lines clearly shows the three-dimensional path of the heat or water vapour through the building construction. Das Auszeichnen einzelner Stromlinien gibt zudem Einblick in den Weg des Wärme- oder Diffusionsstroms durch die Baukonstruktion. On some forums I’ve even read &lt;em&gt;“… ottimo programma ma è in tedesco. Qualcuno potrebbe consigliarmi qualche software di per la valutazione dei ponti termici?”.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;AnTherm “talks” English AND German currently.&lt;/strong&gt; This bilingual ability can be instantly switched within any installation of AnTherm.&lt;br /&gt;Only the setup “speaks” either of the languages – this depends upon the download language choice, but &lt;strong&gt;the installation setup does not influence the bilingual property of AnTherm&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;AnTherm will automatically talk German only if installed on the system with German language preset as local. Otherwise AnTherm will choose its default language – English.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Thus you can output “Leitwert Matrix” or switch to English and use “the Conductance Matrix”. Same applies to “längenbezogene Wärmeübergangskoeffizient” or “linear thermal transmittance”.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It’s the matter of your choice! The evaluation of boundary condition independent indicators, such as thermal coupling coefficients, utilizes up to all processors or processor cores in parallel. By distributing the calculation to several processors simultaneously calculation results are obtained faster.&lt;br /&gt;Following benchmark proves this major improvement: a calculation of a model with 600.000 equations (thermal steady state heat flow) completes after 14 seconds when run on one processor compared to less then 10 seconds when run on dual core system utilizing both cores.
